I've always been a crafty person. From fabric to anything paper related I love to create. And back in 2001 with the encouragement from a friend Flutter of the Hear was born. I opened a specialty paper, gift retail website. I was very successful with this venture until I closed its doors back in 2006.
I decided that after 5 years of being solely online that it was time to get back into the people realm again. I became a realtor. For the next 2 years I bought and sold property. And while it soothed the interaction bug, I still craved a creative outlet.
Although I was in the paper field, I didn't know too much about scrapping until I happened to pick up a paper craft magazine. That was just the beginning of my magical addition. I started making simple pages with flowers, alpha's and other embellishments. It was my appetite for anything bling that led me to card making and finally rubber stamps.
I'd hear of rubber stamps before but didn't get it. I thought how weird it was to ink up rubber when you can easily print out what you want to say from your computer. I got invited to a stamping class and that was all she wrote. I was hooked! I couldn't have enough rubber stamps. I just had to have them.
One day while I was creating a baby shower invite for a client I needed a certain image. I couldn't find that style of image ANYWHERE. At first I got frustrated because the project was not turning out the way I had envisioned because of this one image I absolutely had to have. Then the light bulb went off. Why not create the stamp yourself? What? Me? Create a stamp line? Year right!
I laughed it off.
Then while chatting with a friend, Mary Rawson (our creative consultant among other things) I casually mentioned my ridiculous notion just to see what she thought about it. I told her about a specific image I had in mind and waited to hear her laugh.
There was no laughing.
She loved the idea! I was floored. We began brainstorming and InStyle Stamps was born.
At InStyle Stamps it is our mission to inspire other to create what you feel in your heart. You don't have to buy a gift to tell someone you love them. You can make a card with your own two hands that will convey your message of love more effectively. I know I personally love to get handmade gifts from family and friends and find I appreciate them more.
Personal, heartfelt paper crafts are what we want to inspire other to create. And eve if you don't feel you are crafty enough to do this yourself, we offer services that can easily tailor any of our products specifically to your event.
Our Create Your Own Caricature service is one of our custom features that allow you to put your own stamp of uniqueness right on your invite. It's just another way of making an event more you! Provide us with a photo and one of our talented illustrators will turn that picture into a custom image to be used for your project.
